Welcome to the History page!
This page will show my history projects, mainly centered around the revolutionary war, and what led up to the U.S.A!
D..L.I.Q.C. For Colonies Brochure
I know, where's the brochure, well. My iPad had a freak accident and all the memory was wiped including the brochure Keynote. So I'll just do a D.L.I.Q.C. on it.
We created a travel brochure to bring people to the colonies. We learned what was good and what was bad about the colonies at that time. It was interesting how much in common the colonies had in common. No questions. I can connect this to a project I did in seventh grade about the Arabian Peninsula.

Children Story
My friend A.J. and I had to create a story so that children could understand the declaration of Independence. Ours is about penguins. Sorry it's sideways, I couldn't put it any other way. Sorry about the blur on some of them, my friends kept shaking the chair while I photographed.
D.L.I.Q.C.
We did this project in order to write a dumbed down version of the story of the 13 colonies. I learned that writing a children's story is harder than writing a normal novel because you have to write it using small words. It was interesting how certain people wrote their stories. No questions. I can connect this to the actual story of the 13 colonies and their separation from England.
Colonial Recipe
Around Thanksgiving, we decided to have a feast in our class. Each student had to create a colonial dish. I got colonial pumpkin pie. The recipe is below
2 cups pumpkin, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. ginger, molasses, 1 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. allspice, and 3 eggs.

D.L.I.Q.C.
I created 2 pumpkin pies for the feast. I learned how to make pie and the history of this type of pie. I found it interesting how easy it was to make. How did the idea for pie come from soup? I can connect this to the times when this recipe was much harder to make.
Colonial Video Game
This skit was performed by two other students, friends of mine. Hope you enjoy and find it informational.
D.L.I.Q.C.
I made a skit that informs people about the battles for the war. I learned that working with certain people is difficult. It was interesting how fun this skit was because of the improvisation. Why didn't we get more convincing controllers? I can connect this to an option for this project, creating an actual video game.
Salem Witch Trials
In Salem, Massachusetts, 1692, a witch frenzy broke out! A group of girls, The Circle Girls, started accusing people of witchcraft. Many were tried and hanged by the Puritans. This religion believed anybody accused of witchcraft, was speaking wit the devil and must be sentenced to death immediately. We had to create gravestones for the victims. Unfortunately mine was never returned so you can not see another piece of my terrible art.
D.L.I.Q.C.
We created gravestones for the ones convicted of witch craft. I learned what happened in the Puritan Colonies in this time. It was interesting how if there was one tiny suspicion about somebody using witchcraft. Why weren't there fair trials with non-puritans? I can connect this to the movie Paranorman because the whole movie is about the Witches Curse from the Salem Witch Trials time.
Timeline Project
Myself, and three others worked on a time line project about a year of the Civil War. Below is a picture of the inventive timeline.
D.L.I.Q.C
We created a timeline for a year of the Civil War. I learned about some of the less known people and battles in the war. I found it interesting how some generals acted after the battles, i.e. suspicious, cautious, and timid. No questions. I can connect this to projects I had to do in elementary school for reading.
Turning Point
Our final social studies project was to select a turning point in history. fortunately for myself, I was in Oahu after it was assigned and I learned more about my turning point of Pearl Harbor.

D.L.I.Q.C
We selected and researched a turning point in history that we were passionate about and made a project on it. I learned more than I already knew about Pearl Harbor. I found it interesting how strategically fool proof this plan was. Why would we be attacked if we weren't in the war. I can connect this to my recent trip to Hawaii and the visitation of this historic sight.
